Princeton university engineers have created a type of Doppler radar, typically used to catch speeding cars, that bounces radio waves off stationary objects to effectively “see” around corners. Coupled with algorithms that interpret how the radiowaves reflect off secondary objects, the radar can interpret moving objects that are out of human view. It kinda works like those SONAR systems they used to search for the Loch Ness monster (she’s real ok)....

Reddeck is a site that lets you pin subreddits side-by-side to create an excellent dashboard for stuff you’re interested in. However, there’s a pandemic going on, and the last thing I need is more news....

The platform is currently testing a Discover tab to make it easier for users to, well, discover new engaging content. The Discover tap sits left of the upload button, where the Search function used to reside. See if you can spot the difference: The new Discover tab was spotted by serial leaker Jane Manchun Wong, who has previously uncovered yet-to-be-released features in popular apps like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. It remains unclear if the Discover tab will be any different to the old Search function....

Sun issued an apology earlier today saying he “sincerely apologizes to the public, the medial, officials, and regulatory authorities,” for over hamming his marketing of the charity lunch, CoinDesk reports. The TRON founder referred to himself as “immature, naive, and impulsive,” and as having a “big mouth.” He says this spurred on “out-of-control and failed over-marketing hype and led to a significant series of unexpected consequences.” One report is now saying that the apology, made on Chinese social media site Weibo, has now been deleted....

Well, to clarify, it’s WoW Classic, a recreation of pre-Burning Crusades-era WoW released in tandem with the game’s 15th anniversary. Classic was released last week to much rejoicing. From the overstuffed servers to the literally lines of people looking to turn in quests, all signs suggest people are climbing over each other to get back to WoW. Enemies can’t spawn fast enough to account for all the players attempting to kill them....

According to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), this is precisely the type of activity used to create reverse-lookup tools: the types of services that match specific users, or their accounts, with an otherwise random phone number. Twitter, Facebook, and other social networks all offer the option to upload your contact list into the application to connect with other users. The APIs used to support these types of uploads often contain limitations to keep bad actors from exploiting the tools....

Last week, Uber recently rolled out a bunch of safety features including an optional PIN number to authenticate your ride. But it might roll out more stuff soon. According to app researcher Jane Manchun Wong, the ride-hailing company is testing a feature in its mobile app that lets you record audio if you feel uncomfortable during your trip. The screenshot posted by Wong on Twitter suggests once you hit record, the audio will be captured in the background and sent to Uber...

The U-turn follows growing concerns about the British government’s plans to use custom-made software and send the data to a central database. Cybersecurity experts spotted numerous security flaws in the system, and trials of the app exposed a range of technical issues. Apple and Google’s tech has been promoted as more privacy-focused, and is attracting a growing list of countries. [Read: Google and Apple launch COVID-19 contact-tracing tech] It now appears that the UK will join them, following Germany, Italy, and Denmark in switching to a decentralized system....

In the video clip above, you can see the robots handling clothes in unstructured plastic packaging, identifying them as they place them in cardboard boxes so they can be shipped out. They even grab individual sheets of paper from a printer to place in said boxes without a fuss. With robots like these, Uniqlo could fully automate its warehouses around the world in short order — especially since it’s already 90 percent of the way there with existing bots....

The four major US mobile carriers — AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile US, and Verizon Wireless — have banded together for a new authentication system that would manage your logins without even having to enter a password. Called ZenKey, the system works just like any other single sign-on service (SSO), including those from Google, Facebook, Twitter, and most recently Apple, in that it lets you approve login requests from other websites and apps on a device you own, thereby entirely eliminating the need for passwords....

One of the country’s government bodies, the National Agency for Project Management (NAPM), shared its plans at a press conference earlier this week, news.bitcoin.com reports. [Read: An introduction to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency mining pools] According to the report, the country’s national cryptocurrency mining pool will incentivize domestic and foreign miners to work together. Miners that join the pool will allegedly receive discounted electricity rates. Local news reported the country is setting up the pool in a bid to increase transparency and security of cryptocurrency mining in the country....

The Massachusetts-based firm has released a video of its creations throwing shapes (although curiously not the robot) to the Motown classic “Do You Love Me.” The whole gang has hit the dance floor: there’s the humanoid Atlas shaking its stuff like a past-his-prime John Travolta in an ill-advised Pulp Fiction reboot; box-stacker Handle rolling along to the rhythm; and Spot the quadruped miming the lyrics through a terrifying jaw that looks poised to eject a Xenomorph-style lethal tongue....

While founded in 2003, it’s been 10 years since the Elon Musk-led electric car company (that also produces batteries) went public.
